California Irish, a new seven-piece ensemble from Belfast, has released their debut album 'The Mountains Are My Friends', marking a bold stance against the growing trend of AI-generated music. The group, which initially formed to perform Neil Young tribute shows, has embraced an authentic analog recording process that captures the essence of late 1960s Laurel Canyon sound.
This album is the opposite of boring AI-generated, no soul perfection. We recorded this album in a room together over four days allowing the music to breathe when it needed to, looking at each other for our cues and feeding off each other's energy.
